Just arrived back from a family vacation with my two older sons and husband. We absolutely loved this place. This is a hostel with shared rooms, but does have some private rooms for couples, which we had. It also has a very good location close to everything you may want to visit. We recommend this Hostel and making Sorrento your base.

The photos included with this listing looked lovely however don't be deceived. Yes, there is a lovely area down the bottom of the garden overlooking the Bay of Naples, however this accommodation is a LONG way from the city, ten minutes on the bus.

The time on the bus itself wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that once you arrive at the location there is also a ten minute walk down a very steep hill (even steeper when it comes to climbing it). This laneway is extremely narrow and is cobblestoned. Whilst this is quite charming of a daytime, if you spend the full day sightseeing along the Amalfi Coast and return after dark it is very dangerous as there is no lighting at all. Add to this the hazard of wet cobblestones after rain and you can thank your lucky stars if you make it to the accommodation without breaking a limb.

Whilst our accommodation was adequate, the other couple we were travelling with didn't have the same quality of accommodation however they paid the same price. There was also a problem with the hot water in that someone would turn it off every day and they would have to wait for it to warm up again of an evening before they could have a shower. Needless to say this didn't leave a good overall impression of this hostel.

The website stated that this hostel had breakfast available as well as room service, etc, however we weren't told of any of this. Indeed, once we checked in on the Saturday we only saw the manager once and that was when we called her to see if we could only stay the one night as we were quite worried about the danger of the path of an evening.

Sorrento is a lovely place however our experience was soured here because of the accommodation not meeting expectations. We really feel that an honest description was not portrayed on the website.
