Mansour Hostel is the perfect place to stay for the budget traveler and for those who prefer basic accommodations when traveling. Luai, the hostel's director, is very friendly and kind in helping travelers with any needs they have. I was able to see the Dead Sea and Wadi Mujib with Luai's help and also asked him for many recommendations about places to go including for food, shisha, cheap transportation, nightlife, and other things. Free laundry is provided as well as breakfast and tea. The hostel is a bit on the dirty side and could use some repairs, but if that doesn't bother you, then this is the perfect place for you. Hope this helped!

While this hostel is well located in the downtown area it is now distinctly shabby. The lobby and communal lounge need a serious tidy up and the armchairs are smooth with grease and goodness knows what else from countless travellers. According to LP, room are clean though basic. I do not believe the sheets were changed on either occasion I stayed there, though new pillows were provided the first time(without covers). The trash can in the bathroom had not been emptied of sanitary items and cleaning had clearly not extended under the beds because three packets of cigarette butts were instantly visible. If you want towels, you need to ask for a greying item and neither soap nor toilet paper are provided. My advice - pay a bit more and stay mid-range.

The Mansour Hotel is an easy choice when not staying for a long time in Amman and good value for your money. It is close to busstations and located in a lively area near cheap restaurants and the best baklava in town. Staff is extremely friendly and helping out wherever they can. Though maybe not a beauty in all senses, it is being renovated and most of the rooms are with ac and good bathroom facilities now. I have enjoyed staying here.
